Circa 1817, blue sceptre and KPM over iron-red orb and K.P.M. mark, iron-red gilder's o, Pressnummer 34 over impressed III to one, blue sceptre, painter's - in orange and + in brown and Pressnummer 22 to other
The centre with the Iron Cross in black edged with silver, within a broad garland of oak and laurel leaves tied by ochre and black ribbons, the border with a matt gilt band with burnished ornament of stylised leaves within gothic arches (the second with small chip to underside of rim and very slight rubbing to areas of well)

Lot Essay

From the service made for Prince Wilhelm, the brother of Friedrich Wilhelm III, who commanded the Prussian army in the campaign against Napoleon. Friedrich announced his intention to present services to his victorious Princes and Generals in 1815. The service presented to Prince Wilhelm dates from 1817 (see Erich Kllman and Margarete Jarchow, Berliner Porzellan (1987), vol. II, pls. 311a, 311b and 312).
