A pair of Meissen two-handled puce-ground beakers and saucers
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords marks, impressed 6 to cups, Pressnummer 2 to saucers, all with painter's iron-red x mark
Each side of the beakers painted with figures in landscapes with rivers, bridges and castles, within shaped ogival quatrefoil cartouches on a puce ground, the double scroll handles flanked by trailing flowering branches enriched with gilding, the saucers similarly decorated with landscapes within iron-red double line concentric circular cartouches, gilt line rims (minute scratches to enamels in places) (2)
