Lot Essay

During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng, a great many wares were produced in imitation Ge, Guan and Ru Imperial Wares of the Song dynasty, it is quite rare however to find Yongzheng marked wares imitating celadon wares of antiquity.

For a 15th century Longquan celadon dish with similar decoration, see R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul, vol. 1, cat. no. 320.
