A PAIR OF WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWLS
DAOGUANG SEAL MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD

Enamelled to the exterior with striding red and green dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amidst floral sprays, divided by two descending phoenixes, all beneath a narrow band with the bajixiang interspersed with ruyi heads, the interior central medallion with an iron-red dragon and flaming pearl amid green flame bursts

A Daoguang example from the Simon Kwan Collection was included in the Chinese University of Hong Kong Exhibition of Imperial Porcelain, 1983, Catalogue, no. 44.
