Lot Essay

It is quite rare to find bowls of this pattern with Qianlong marks. For a Jiaqing example, see the pair included in the Shanghai Museum special exhibition, Selected Ceramics from the Collection of Mr. & Mrs. J.M. Hu, 1989, Catalogue, no. 83. A pair of Daoguang-marked bowls of this pattern was sold in these Rooms, 1 October 1991, lot 1014.
