TWO ORMOLU-MOUNTED FRENCH BLEU NOUVEAU GROUND VASES
Svres, circa 1780, blue interlaced L's marks, various incised marks and painter's marks for Pierre-Joseph Rousset, l'an and Jean-Louis Morin, the mounts 19th century
Each originally conceived as a teapot, one painted with figures outside a village, the other with a poacher fleeing with fowl, the reverse with a gamekeeper recovering the goods, within variant gilt surrounds reserved on the cobalt-blue ground, later mounted, the handles as nereids peering into the mouth of the vase
