Lot Essay

The quality of mounts on this bureau plat is characteristic of Zwiener's oeuvre, specifically the angle mounts. Similar flower-filled cornucopia mounts can be found on the serviteur fidele sold Christie's New York, 14 September 1995, lot 453. The ateliers of Zwiener is further known for incorporating the use of 'Vernis Martin' panels.
