A late Restauration bronze and ormolu mantel clock
Circa 1830
The case flanked by an allegorical figure of a warrior shown standing with broken fetters, holding a sword (lacking), his helmet and scabbard resting on the top of the case to his side, a broken bow at his feet, the circular silvered and engine milled Roman dial signed GILLION, Rue Braque Paris, the twin train movement with countwheel strike on a bell, lacking pendulum and key, the rectangular stepped plinth with acanthus wrapped angles and gallery of fluted and guilloche ornament on a scrolled plinth
