the asymmetrical ovoid body with writhen and beaded collars below a berried finial, mounted with tapered fluted platforms to either side, the figure of a small child balancing on one and stretching out to hold a toy butterfly over flames rising from the other, spreading socle with gadrooned and acanthus cast base on square section plinth with toupie feet, white enamel Roman dial with Arabic five minutes, pierced gilt metal hands and beaded surround inset with convex glass, twin barrel movement with strike on bell -- 13.5/8in. (34.8cm.) high
