A pair of Continental gilt bronze mounted polished steel fire irons, 19th century
including a pair of tongs and flared shovel, the scroll cast finials (one detached) on plain shafts with baluster intersections -- the shovel 31.3/8in. (79.5cm.); and later associated stand with bear's mask foliate finial on plain shaft with lion's mask and foliate cast retainer, fruit and floral cast shaped and dished base -- 31¾in. (80.7cm.) high
