The Iwamoto school was a powerful group within the Yokoya line. The founder Chubei was from Aizu province and trained in the Yokoya tradition. Iwamoto Konkan (1744-1801) became a student of Ryokan between 1764 and 1772. An accomplished painter and poet, Konkan was born and grew up in Edo.
