meiji period (late 19th century), the first signed kyoto namikawa, the second sealed kume (kumeno teitaro)
The first of baluster form with slender neck, decorated in colored enamels and metal wire with sparrows and butterflies in flight among flowers, the neck with a hanabishi pattern, the overall background midnight blue; the second slender with flared neck ending in a small mouth similarly decorated with birds perched on hanging wisteria; the third of spherical shape decorated with shaped panels of flowers, a cherry tree and an eagle over waves on a ground of paulownia and scrolling leaves
