marked Faberg, workmaster Michael Perchin, St. Petersburg, circa 1890, with scratched inventory number 40360
Of cylindrical form on raised acanthus foot, the body set with four gold Russian coins depicting profile portraits of Elizabeth Petrovna within a wide band chased and engraved with strapwork and foliage scrolls on stippled ground, within beaded borders, the domed cover with similar decoration, the scroll handle chased and engraved with acanthus and beading and surmounted by a shell thumbpiece, with later pearl finial, marked under base
