FIRST EDITION in book form. Bright and Addison, both famous for their work on kidney diseases, were joint lecturers in medicine at Guy's Hospital when they published this textbook of medicine. First issued in three parts between 1836 and 1839, the book was intended as an introduction to a larger work, but no more was published. This volume "contains concise descriptions of over sixty diseases and conditions, and includes the first accurate account of appendicitis" (Norman). RARE. Garrison-Morton 2215; Norman 342.
