Provenance: Pierre Adolphe Piorry (1794-1879), doctor of medicine who introduced the percussor and the pleximeter in 1826 (presentation inscription from the author on the upper margin of the first page: " Mr. Piorry Dr. Mdn. de la part de l'auteur" [first letter of recipient's name shaved]).
FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY TO PIERRE ADOLPHE PIORRY. A privately printed account of his use of alkali hypochlorite as a disinfectant, using sodium hypochlorite solution ("Labarraque's liquid").
