The rectangular padded back, outscrolled arms and loose-cushioned seat upholstered in 18th Century gros and petit-point needlework, the back depicting Christ and the woman of Smyrna at the well, the seat with flowering urns all within scrolling foliate borders, on hipped cabriole legs with trifid feet, left back leg replaced, the needlework associated, the gros point ground of a later date
