Each with sloping rectangular padded footrest covered in close-nailed leopard-print velvet over scrolled and rosette-carved side rails above a panelled frieze inlaid with foliate trails, on brass bun feet

The design for this stool directly derives from a design for a 'Grecian footstool' published in Rudolph Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors of 1826, plate 58. Ackerman praises this type of stool for its comfort and stability (see Ed. P. Agius, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p. 88).
