Oval box, the cover, sides and base enamelled in translucent blue on an engine-turned vertical money-pattern ground bordered with foliate two-colour gold paillons within opaque white enamel bands, the side panels divided by four chased pilasters partly enamelled in transclucent blue, the cover centred by an oval portrait miniature depicting King Frederick II of Prussia (1712-1786) as Alten Fritz, within a blue enamelled frame, the gold rims bright-cut
