A similar six-piece silver-gilt tea-service with metal gilt tray made for Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, Prince de Bénévent, was sold by Gallerie Koller, Zrich, May 1992.
This tea-service is a fine example of C.N. Odiot's interest in English designs following his training at Garrard's in London in the early 1820s.
