A pair of Régence silver spice-boxes
Maker's mark of Etienne Guenon, Paris, 1724, with early 19th century Lyon marks
Each plain oval on four scroll feet with fluted triangular panels above, the centrally hinged cover with gadrooned borders opening to reveal three compartments, one box engraved later with monogram MP and stamped with letter P (perhaps for poivre), marked on base, feet, covers and interior
