A FRENCH GREY AND GILT-LACQUERED WHITE-METAL CLOCK GARNITURE
Made for the Eastern market, late 19th Century
The clock movement striking on a single bell, the rectangular dial decorated with two Geisha, one playing a musical instrument, flanked by ring-turned baluster pillars, the sides mounted with elephant handles, surmounted by a rectangular pediment with dentilled frieze and fitted with four turned finials, a further finial above resting on a domed plinth, on rectangular base and pierced scrolled supports headed by pierced angle brackets with a similar pierced shaped frieze, 14½in. (36.5cm) high; and a pair of two-handled vase-shaped side ornaments en suite, each with fixed cover with pineapple cone finial
12¾in. (32cm) high, all with velvet-covered giltwood and gesso plinths (3)
