A NOVELTY SILVER PRESENTATION MINIATURE MINER'S LAMP

Maker's mark of Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd, 1916
Formed as a miniature Davy lamp with spirit burner base, engraved with presentation inscription, 'Replica of the Lady Markham lamp raffled on the coal exchanges of Great Britain for the wounded Allies Relief Fund. Realised #3,220.18.0., 5in. (12.5cm.) high; and a novelty silver cased Mother-of-Pearl thermometer, retailed by Thornhill & Co, 144 New Bond Street, 1898.
