Partick Thistle won the Glasgow Cup this season by defeating Rangers 3-1.

Andrew Kerr was born in Ayr on 29th June 1931 and joined Partick Thistle in May 1952 from Lugar Boswell Thistle. Whilst with the Jags he played twice for Scotland at full International level and was part of the Thistle team who reached the Scottish League Cup final in 1954 and 1957. In May 1959 he joined Manchester City for (11,000 and in December of the same year he joined Kilmarnock for (6,000. He made a further three Cup final appearances whilst with Kilmarnock; Scottish Cup, 1960 and Scottish League Cup, 1961 and 1963 before joining Sunderland in April of 1963 for (22,250. Thereafter, there were periods with Aberdeen, Glentoran and Inverness Caledonian
