Rangers won the Glasgow Charity Cup, season 1929-30 by the toss of a coin against Celtic after the match had ended in a 2-2 draw and an equal amount of corners (4).

Thomas Allan Muirhead was born in Cowdenbeath on 31st January 1897 and joined Rangers in May of 1917 for the princely sum of (20. In the mid 1920s he had a brief period as player/manager of Boston F.C. in the U.S.A. but it was with the Light Blues that he won numerous honours in the famous side of the 1920s; eight League Championships and two Scottish Cup runners-up medals in 1922 and 1929. He played a total of eight times for Scotland at full International level and also made six appearances for the Scottish League. He retired in 1920 and became a sports journalist, coming out of retirement to manage St. Johnstone and Preston North End
