The above shirt was gained by Newton as a swap with Bertie Vogts after the 1970 World Cup Quarter-Final match between West Germany and England played at Guanajuato Stadium, Leon, Mexico on 14th June 1970, West Germany defeating England 3-2 after extra-time. This was Newton's last appearance for England.
