The above shirt was worn by the legendary Tom Finney in the match against Scotland played at Wembley on 14th April 1951 before 98,750 spectators, the match ending in a 3-2 win for Scotland. In a highly entertaining match, England survived most of the game with ten men after Wilf Mannion was taken-off in the 13th minute. England took the lead through the debutante Hassall before Scotland equalised prior to half-time. In the second-half Scotland raced into a 3-1 lead before England came back into the match in the 80th minute when Finney lobbed the advancing Cowan in the Scotland goal to make it 3-2. England then almost had a penalty when Mortensen was bundled over uncerimoniously but the referee waved play on.
