Dynamo Kiev won the 1985-86 European Cup Winner's Cup by defeating Atletico Madrid 3-0 in the final played at the Stade de Gerland, Lyon, on 2nd May 1986 before 39,000 spectators. The goalscorers for Dynamo were Zavarov, Blokhin and Yevtushenko. On their way to this win, Dynamo defeated F.C.Utrecht, Universitatea Craiova, S.K.Rapid Wien and in the semi-final Dukla Praha.
