Lot Essay

The above photographic archive represents a fascinating insight into football from the early part of this century. The images are in positive rather than negative and cover the era from the late 19th Century up to circa 1930. The images are most likely taken from newspaper and press negatives of the respective era's and are likely to have been taken, on the whole, from the Glasgow Herald and Evening Times Collection around 1930. Whilst not unique, it is unusual to find a large collection such as this from a single source.
