The attribution has been kindly suggested by Dr. Sam Segal after inspection of the original. He compares it with the picture, signed and dated 1645, in the Wadsworth Atheneum (Wadsworth Atheneum Paintings of the Netherlands and German-speaking Countries in the 15th to 19th Centuries, Hartford, 1978, pp.157/8, n083).
