The attribution has been kindly confirmed by Dr. Hella Robels in a letter dated 10 September 1998, on the basis of a photograph. She compares it to the picture in the Louvre (A. Brejon de Lavergnée, J. Foucart & N. Reynand, Catalogue Sommaire, etc., Écoles Flamande et Hollandaise, 1979, p.148, inv. n01846, ill.), where the stag in the foreground and the hound in the middle distance are similar.
