Dr. Sam Segal has pointed out that this is characteristic of De Heer's work and that two similar works are in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden (P 1982-067 and -068), Vereniging Rembrandt Verslag, Amsterdam, 1982, pp. 83-4.
