A Transitional blue and white mallet-shaped bottle vase
Circa 1640
The body painted with a bird flying amongst scattered sprays of hortensia, bamboo, lotus, orchids, peony and prunus, divided on the shoulder by a band of meandering daisies and foliage, all below cloud scrolls and pointed leaves on the garlic neck and cylindrical rim, some marine encrustation (hairline crack to the body)
