A blue and white quatrefoil oblong tray
Jiaqing mark and of the period
Inscribed to the centre with a poem by Emperor Jiaqing, the sharply rounded sides and well painted with a continuous band of foliate scrollwork and flower-heads above a double-line border
15.8 cm. wide
The poem praises the pleasure of drinking morning tea in early winter. The cyclical date given relates to the Qianlong Emperor's reign, which was still used three years after his death.
