An Imari bowl and stand
Circa 1700
The central roundel painted in underglaze-blue and gilt with dahlia's, peony and a banana-tree in a fenced garden, moulded with fluted sides and flaring rim, painted predominantly in gilt with touches of iron-red, mauve, green and black enamels with two phoenix between shaped panels (two very small rim chips to the bowl)
the stand 23 cm. diam.
