This drawing appears to relate to an idea for either a 'bathing' painting or a 'baptism' painting. Similar figures with steps in the composition appear in both The Baptism, (Private Collection), 1952, (Bell 380) and The Bathing Pool, Dogs, (Private Collection), 1957, (Bell 427).
