Idea for the Ceiling of a church (recto)

It is likely that the 'grid-like' divisions shown in the ceiling of the present drawing represent the ceiling of Cookham Church. It is also possible that the subjects depicted are the Christ in the Wilderness series, (Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth), 1939 to 1954, (Bell 283 a-h), each of which has a square 22 x 22 in. (56 x 56 cm.) format.
