A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BOOKCASE
Crossbanded in satinwood and inlaid to the front with boxwood and ebonised lines, the moulded rectangular top with Greek-key moulding above a Gothic-arched pendant-hung frieze and a pair of geometrically- glazed doors enclosing a cream watered silk-lined interior with three adjustable glass shelves, the lower section with a fluted border above two drawers and a pair of concave cut panelled doors with patera, enclosing a sliding cedar tray, on a plinth base probably originally with two further sliding trays, with printed depositary label to the reverse for 'WHITE & CO. LTD /.... WINCHESTER ...' inscribed in ink 'Earl of Powis 339-1' and inscribed in pencil 'E.C.W' three times, two panes cracked, one roundel replaced
