Inlaid overall with lines, the tilt-top with moulded edge, on a turned baluster column and concave-sided tripartite support with roundels, on tapering downswept legs, brass foliage caps and castors, restored crack to top

Lot Essay

The brass-inlaid table, with octagonal top and pillar support on patterae-enriched and Grecian-scrolled claws, corresponds to tables executed around 1815 by George Bullock (d. 1818) of London and Liverpool (A. Coleridge, 'The Work of George Bullock, Cabinet-Maker in Scotland: 2, The Connoisseur, November 1965, figs. 9 and 10; and C. Wainwright et al, George Bullock: Cabinet-Maker, London, 1988, p. 67, (no. 8), p. 81 (no. 19) and pp. 100-101 (no. 37).
