A MING IVORY CARVING OF AN IMMORTAL, CHANG KUO LAO

Crisply carved holding a flute to the chest, the full face with finely detailed eyes and lips parted in a smile revealing neat rows of teeth, the hair tightly combed into two buns at the top, the details incised and painted, the ruffled sleeves deeply carved at the sides, a double gourd suspended from a tasselled ribbon from the waist, age cracks and age patination
