Lot Essay

The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test, no.P198n95, is consistent with the dating of this lot.

Compare the slightly larger Cizhou meiping with a similar trellis-pattern band to the present lot from the Charles B. Hoyt Collection in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Catalogue, vol.II, no.91, also illustrated in Oriental Ceramics, Kodansha Series, 1980, vol.10, no.124.
