Edo Period (Late 17th/Early 18th Century), The Mounts 18th/19th Century
One decorated in iron-red, green, blue, yellow and black enamels with a central stylised flowerhead, the reverse with a continuous band depicting birds flying over a blossoming plum tree, bamboo and chrysanthemums growing among rockwork in front of a fence; and the pair of octagonal form similarly decorated in iron-red, green, blue, yellow and black enamels and gilt with a central stylised plum blossom, the sides alternately depicting a boy, wild pinks and asters, the rim with a band of floral lappets and karakusa, both with slight cracks
