The outer surfaces of the three-tiered kogo, cover and the top of the tray decorated with usuniku butterflies in two colours of gold, flying over densely scattered blossom of the nobara [wild rose] in red, gold and black lacquer, on a sparse nashiji background, the bottom section of the lower tier formed as a stand, the feet of the stand finished with a silver rim as is the edge of the cover, the interior, base, bottom of the tray and interior of the lid nashiji
