The three-tier kogo, tray and stand decorated in gold hiramakie and takamakie with log rafts, cherry blossom and petals scattered among the surface eddies of a stream, the cords binding the rafts in silver hiramakie, the sides of the cover cut away in arabesques and the surface decorated with a floral brocade pattern in gold usuniku-takamakie, the lines with mixed gold and silver powders, the box stands on a low, four-footed base, the rims of the cover, boxes and feet silver, the interior of the cover and boxes, the top of the base and the undersides of the boxes, tray and base all covered with rich gyobu, together with two outer boxes, the inner of which is of kuronuri, with a gold lacquer inscription on the cover
