Netsuke signed Kohosai, Edo Period (18th Century)
Decorated in gold hiramakie, takamakie, kirikane and aogai, coral and metal inlay with vines and cherry blossom on trellis, nashiji interior, an ivory netsuke of two biwa fruit on a stem, slight wear; and a flat circular single case lacquer inro decorated in gold, silver and iroe hiramakie and gold foil, depicting Shoki with his robe in gold ishime-ji, the reverse with a metal ornament formed as a stylized minogame with ropes on a textured metal ground within a copper rim, fundame rims, signed Nanjosai Tatsuke Kokyo and a seal Takamitsu (?), fitted with an ivory square netsuke pierced with palaces and pine, Edo Period (19th century), slight wear
