A LARGE SHIBAYAMA-STYLE THREE-CASE INRO
Edo Period (19th Century)
Shaped in the form of a flattened section of bamboo, decorated in stained ivory, aogai, coral with silver and shakudo takazogan inlay on a kinji ground, depicting frogs chasing two oni, the reverse with a blind man with his foot on the back of a crouching oni, climbing up the ridges of the bamboo sections towards another oni attacked by wasps, nashiji interiors, a copper ojime modelled as a frog on a lotus leaf, slight old wear
