A Lacquered And Two Painted Wood Netsuke
The first of a standing figure of a man holding up a kakemono on which is written Kanzan, with the remains of a coating of red lacquer and traces of gold, later restored with dark brown lacquer, Edo period (17th century); the second a well carved and expressive figure of a seated Onna-Daruma [woman Daruma], her hands enfolded in her robe, with traces of red paint on the robe and white paint and sumi on the face and hair, Edo period (18th century); and the third of a standing figure of a Noh performer, his sleeve across his headdress and a court fan in his hand, painted in green, red, white, black and brown, the former carved in Ittobori style, Edo period (18th century)
