Lot Essay

The rifle was completed circa 1894 and remains in exceptionally good condition for its age. The rib inscription states quite clearly that the barrels were 'manufactured' by Daniel Fraser, but it would appear from the overall consistently excellent condition of the stock, action and barrels that these barrels were supplied 'as new' and not at a later stage. The present calibre is as recorded in the Woodward records
