The Purdey patent single-trigger with rolled-edge triggerguard, hold-open toplever, beetle-backed safety, cocking-indicators, the lockplates and underside of the action-body engraved with scenes of pheasant and Northern pintail, the whole surrounded by bold acanthus scrollwork, the maker's signature gold-inlaid on the lockplates and on the underside of the action-body, the triggerguard engraved with a snipe in flight, the triggerplate signed 'W.P. SINCLAIR', bright cyanide-hardened finish overall, well-figured stock with pistolgrip, the barrels with matt solid top-rib and intermediate bead-sight
