Figures outside the west door of Chester Cathedral

'The west front of Chester Cathedral dates from the early 16th century but was later restored and embellished by Scott. The sculpture above the west door, which is flanked by canopied niches, culminates in the Assumption of the Virgin, and a huge eight light perpendicular window rises above' P.
