Bouilly Bay, Jersey, a beach scene with fisherfolk

A German painter of genre and historical subjects, Wehnert lived in Paris and Jersey between 1833 and 1837. Thereafter he returned to London, and exhibited at the New Watercolour Society, the Royal Academy, the British Institution and elsewhere.
